Javanese Fried Rice, Who has never tasted fried rice? We may say that fried rice is a practical food in preparation, cheap and marry, and we can enjoy it in every occasion as well. We can find it as a breakfast meal at home or nice sweet in the night.
As you know, fried rice has actually been belonged to Chinese’s traditional food since 4000 BC, and then it was spread by traders over the world. Actually, it symbolizes Chinese’s character that they don’t like making something useless, which is rice. Then, they processed it back creatively. They mixed rice and compound seasoning then served it again.
Fried rice has been familiar in many countries that it has many variations depends on the country and the spices or the ingredients which is used by the own people there. One of the familiar variations in Indonesia is Javanese fried rice which is usually seasoned with sambal uleg (grinded sambal) that makes it hot. Javanese Fried Rice Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 stalk of leek
- 1 plate of rice (about 500 g)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
Grinded Spices:
- 6 chilies
- ½ tbsp of roasted terasi
- ½ part of tomato
- Complements:
- Slices of omelet, slices of tomato, slices of cucumber
Directions:
- Heat cooking oil, cook grinded spice in little oil till it is fragrant.
- Add leek and rice, mix them.
- Add some salt and soy sauce, mix and cook them at high temperature. Serve it with the complements.
